Hello from Belgium

Hello
just discovered this forum.

Born and living in Belgium, so I was born "a cyclist" in the year Eddy Merckx won his first
(of seven) Primavera's (Milano-San Remo).
Learned to bike on 2 wheels when I was 3.....

Still crazy after 41 years.....

From one noob to a another, welcome. I lived in Antwerp for two years. I like Belgium. I wasn't in to biking over there. Mostly I drank the beer. Do you ever ride in the Alps? That would be beautiful.

hey Mike!
everybody comes to belgium for the beer!!! ;-)

Indeed, I rode in the alps several times.

I wondered if there were Americans interested to come over to Flanders or Europe, just for biking...
Can someone reply me an answer?

Back in 2004 I had gone over to watch the Tour de France. I made a point of visiting Belgium while I was there, although I wish I could have spent more time. I did a bit of riding around Antwerpen, and even had some of the local beer, but sadly I still ride more like a Belgian waffle than like a true Belgian. However I did build up an Eddy Merckx steel frame earlier this year. I still hope to see the Tour of Flanders live some day... In a Walter Mitty kind of way, I also dream of riding the Ronde van Vlaandaren cyclosportif ride, but I have A LOT of training to do before that would be remotely feasible.

But enough about me - I hope that you enjoy your time here on Bike Forums! In the meantime, the Americans can live vicariously through people such as yourself who are so lucky to live in an area with such a love for cycling.
