Hello..Oregon

My wife and I use to ride a lot 25 years ago but life got busy and all that normal stuff. Anyway my wife decided recently she wanted to start riding again more so for the exercise do to arthritis and she wanted a tricycle. Well her new interest in bikes got me started and I began to look around for a bike of my own. Didn't take me long to discover Folders. I didn't want to invest to much so I found myself a craigslist special a Dahon from the early 90s with a 3 speed. It's pretty decent but it's been sitting for years so the shifter is frozen and the brakes are useless. Anyway my question is, can this old folder be upgraded with newer generation stuff? Like brakes ( these seem to be pretty low quality), seat post, peddles etc.? Any advise or suggestions would be most appreciated. I fix things for a living so I'm open to anything..Thanks for reading this looks like a good forum to hang out in

Welcome to BikeForums. This is the Introductions forum.
Ask the folk in the Bicycle Mechanics forum or the Folding Bikes forum about the upgrades. You'll get a lot more replies.
