Hey

Portland, OR
Cannondale Synapse,
I rode last summer for the first time since I was in my early 20's on a 1998 Cadd3 Silk.
I am now 42.
Now that the rain has finally subsided, I have 195 miles on my new bike.

Welcome to BikeForums. Sounds like a good start to me.
I'm guessing you're a roadie. The folks in the Road cycling forum can give you lots of advice. If you're looking for locals to ride with try the PNW regional subforum.
