traveler, landed in NYC for now
what's up, been biking pretty seriously for about 10 years. bike mechanic for two. basically a hardcore longer distance commuter but thinking about racing cross this year. lived (and ridden) everywhere from kc to oakland to the southeastern us to chicago to wyoming and now brooklyn (for the second time), all in the last 3 years. probably headed to pdx or europe in the next 6 months.
quik bike history: many trashy kmart bikes as a kid shoddy trek hybrid commuter in college 90's centurion ironman purple and yellow, SS conversion then fixed, first "real" bike raleigh team usa (actual us team bike from mid 80's) with Campy SR group lemond poprad with newer ultegra 90's basso gap w/original 105 group (just got jacked) and finally, a 90's bianchi volpe. dreaming about a courage or 611 or ira ryan cx bike, but it's just a dream. actually, i've recently begun photoshopping myself onto other people's photos of their speedvagens and sachs. jk. |
Welcome to Bike Forums! You've travelled quite a bit - where is your favorite place to ride?
You need to post some of those photoshopped pictures in the Foo forum. :D |
that's not the half of the traveling i've done. favorite place to ride, wyoming, hands down. it's also just my favorite place to be, except I miss arts&culture sometimes when I'm there.
NYC is a fun place to ride if you pretend that staying alive, moving, and upright is just a big video game ;) I saw a pothole yesterday that was so large it had a full size 55 gallon trash can about 3/4 down in it. |
