I have decided after 25+ years to break down and buy me a road bike, so i came here looking for advice

I will be 40 years old next week so I am thinking I will buy me a road bike, something under 500.00 and entry level anyone have a suggestion ?

we have hundreds of miles of bike paths near my home and look forward to enjoying them

Welcome to Bike Forums.
New entry road bikes start at about $700.
They ride nice and fast and have full warranty's
You can buy used from Craiglist, but no warranty and help with fitting to the bike.

Welcome to BikeForums.
For $500 your best bet is either craigslist (if you know your bike size) or Bikesdirect. Let us know what you get.

Welcome Johny25. We don't do cars here but love sexy bicycles. What bicycle(s) do you have?
