Hey there, from Madison, WI

Just figured I'd introduce myself. In March of this year, I decided that I'd quit smoking, and on the very same day, purchase a bike and start bike commuting. 4 months later I'm commuting nearly every day, and still smoke free! So my bike/quit plan has worked. What's more is that it's like I've found what had been missing for all these years. Not only am I commuting but I look forward to long evening rides and weekend adventures (usually fit into the couple of hours when my toddler son is sleeping/napping - unfortunately he HATES the bike trailer).

Hoping to meet some other folks locally, and to learn as much as I can about my new passion.

Welcome to Bike Forums.

Give the kid a job in the trailer.
I gave my grandson an orange flag to wave at the cars.
He also had to tell me when he saw a car.
He loved the trailer rides.

Being home to the University of Wisconsin, Madison certainly has a great bike culture.

That is does. I love the fact that my commute consists on 95% well maintained bike paths, goes around the shore of one of our lakes, and then finishes through a great old neighborhood with stately trees. Since I started commuting, I've fallen in love with this city all over again.
