Taking the plunge and sharing the fun!
Hi there: I've been a reader for a number of months now and I thought it was finally time to jump in. I've been getting into older road bikes for the last year and have been volunteering for a group called bikes for humanity for a just little while. Quite simply, I've fallen in love with finding, fixing (or trying too) and riding old road bikes but the best part has been sharing the fun with my kids.
My three, two boys and a girl discovered my Old "Pre-Canadian" Sekine GS I bought at a spring auction for $10 bucks. After riding it, my 15 and 11 year old boys have put aside their mountain bikes, have hunted down and bought with their own money some classic rides and are regularly out for hours. The best part has been watching my 9 year old daughter find and ride a small framed girls road bike. She's out as much or more than the boys.
I just want to say how much I've enjoyed this forum and look forward to communicating
with folk. Everyone seems extremely good natured and perhaps equally obsessed with bikes. I think I might like it here
Warm Regards
