intro
Hey Y'all. I'm 18 and I've been biking since I was 5. I've just started doing it seriously over the past year or so. Back in march I bought a trek 4300. It's by far the nicest bike I've ever owned. so far I've mostly just been riding it on the road, but I hope to hit up some trails near the university I'll be attending this fall. I'm an amateur on all levels, but I'm really interested and want to learn how to get the most out of my bike. I get the impression that mountain bikes need quite a bit of maintenance; not because they're fragile, but because trail riding is pretty hard on the bike. I'm going to be a broke college kid soon, and won't be able to spend money on tune-ups every few months, so I'm trying to learn how to do it myself. I hope I'm able to learn some things on this forum.
