Since I've started replying to posts, I figure it's time to introduce myself-
I too am gettng back into cycling, after a bit of a hiatus. I've been an avid commuter, mtn biker, and am about to try the roadie thing (just as soon as my new bike arrives). I'll give my fitness recovery (40's and gaining weight- yikes) a bit of time before I start looking for a group to ride with.

Going roadie? Have you considered 'bent? I switched from road to recumbent and I'm having the time of my life. Joined a local cycling club and can hang with all but the fastest riders who are considerably younger and more fit than me. I'm coming off of a 7 year hiatus and just started riding again this spring. Good to see you are back to riding again.
