Hello from Gainesville, FL

Hi, my name is Cyanotic, I am overweight and am just getting back into cycling after ~5 year hiatus.
Browsing these forums, really appreciate the positive atmosphere and support for riding. Hoping to progress to commuting shortly!

Welcome to the forums! I just came off of a 7 year hiatus myself. I switched from a road bike to a recumbent and having a blast. I now commute home from work 17.7 miles and love it. Even joined a local cycling club.

I think you will find lots of good information here on the forums and a lot of helpful people. You can do it!

Gainesville is great for cycling, you ride about 5 miles in any direction and you're out in the sticks. Enjoy.
