Hello from NorCal

I just picked up my new Santa Cruz Blur... Oh yeah, this could be fun! But to understand my excitement, you have to go back with me to the mid '60s when I was riding a Chinelli as a club racer up and down the Left Coast. There has been a lot of water under that 'ol bridge between then and now. So, to rejoin all of you, I decided to try off-road this time. Stay tuned...

Sounds great Pantoufle!!
I'm starting again after being off my bike for over a year...
I need to get in the gym and start commuting to work instead of driving my truck.

Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the forums pantoufle! I was just out in Ft Bragg a couple of weeks ago. Did a little MTBing out that way on a borrowed MTB. The road riding was pretty nice too...beautiful area! Where up north CA are you?

Hi Gus,

I live in a town called Cupertino. It's between San Francisco and San Jose on the West side of the bay close to a lot of great hills and trails. I've been getting in some good short rides to get my head back into shifting "before of the hill." There is an MTB group out here called ROMP that offers an MTB beginners class, which I plan to attend Saturday. As for the road work, I'm getting a second set of wheels with 1.5 road tires so I can enjoy all the great riding out here.

Pantoufle,

I'm from Cupertino as well. I'm a roadie and have a Poprad 'cross bike in addition to the regular road bike. I don't do any technical stuff but have ridden in Fremond Older and Stevens Canyon Trail as well as the paved and unpaved sections of Montebello and Alpine Rds.
