60+ heart valve repair dude from Alberta

Hello all from the cool North country. Just another old guy still biking on old hybridized 10 speeds. Average 15 kms a day to keep the ticker in shape. Had mitral and tri-cuspid valves repaired in late Feb. and back on the bike in June (it finally has warmed up here). Fairly knowledgeable on training and cardiac issues. Have put on between 3300 and 5000 kms. since changing the batteries on my two Sigma speedometers (I have 4 old beater bikes). I use either my trax or minura when it's not -40C and try to avoid the gravel roads when it is +30C. Love to hear from others of my vintage.

Better to go slow in the right direction than fast in the wrong direction!

Welcome Tommy to Bike Forums.
Keep them old wheels turning.
I started road riding at age 65 years and got in 11,000 miles the first year.

Welcome to Bike Forums. No heart problems here, but I'm 65.
Stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the "old farts".

Nice to see I'm not alone in the old fart's club.

Bikes: HIGH NELLY: 1972 Raleigh Sports. Showroom quality, from Craiglist this summer for same price I paid for my coffee brown model in 1972! Original Raleigh tires, saddle, & brakes (yikes!). Air pump never used. The Gods of 3-Speed are watching over me...
