Howdy from Texas =]
After reading through this forum for days on end, I figured I should join.
I just moved down here to Texas from Washington state, and I left my car behind for numerous reasons. My fiance gave me his no-name 24" MTB to ride, and it was terrible! So I walked the 2 miles in the Texas heat to my LBS and bought a 2010 Giant Sedona ST. The last time I actually rode a bike was probably 12 years ago or so, so it's a re-learning experience. I honestly don't know much about the mechanics of bikes, but I've learned a bit, and I'm planning on heading to the library to check out some books. Plus, the owners of my LBS are very friendly and have offered to help me with anything I need!
So far, I'm just planning on using my new wheels for going to the grocery store and rides around town/in the country, but eventually I want to start doing longer weekend trips and go from there! Anyway, I'm glad to officially be part of the forums!

Well, there are less tumbleweeds here =]
But no, I come from the desert part of Washington, so it's very, very similar... except there's humidity here!
