Finally, after lurking around...
i suppose i can introduce myself. my name is dan, from south shore MA. I have an assortment of bikes laying around but, only two of them are real bikes.I have a raleigh retroglide 7 (2010) and a trek 7300 fx with disc brake (2005, i think. based on info i gathered from bikepedia. oddly enough, i can find no reference of this bike actually existing somewhere, so i figure its either a shop special, or a modified bike. i bought her used. if someone can clarify, i'd appreciate it. shoot me a pm or something). the rest are huffy garbage. i started biking about 2 months ago in response to ending a rather empty long term relationship. however, being human, that sh** hurt a lot, so i ended up with a rather kicka** coping mechanism lol. but i've dived headfirst into the hobby, and i'm hooked. I'm currently doing about 10 miles daily, though i've done a couple of 20 plus mile rides. i plan on doing a century sometime within the next couple of years. i use toe clips, and i believe in wearing a helmet for the same reasons i wear my seatbelt: ya never know... I've read just about all of sheldon's site and i've been tinkering with my own bikes, doing adjustments and such. It's been such an addiction that i'm actually seriously considering a career as a bike tech. of course, theres a bunch of learning i have yet to do, as made evident by my very first post. I also have an associates degree in automotive technology which is going to waste.
I keep reptiles; i have 4 snakes (2 colombian red tailed boas, an albino california kingsnake, and a burmese python) and 2 snapping turtles. I also have a fishtank with a community set up.
I'm also a decent musician (i play guitar)and i do a lot of drawing (if ya'll are interested.. pm me and i'll link you up to my deviantart)
well yeah, that's my introduction. i hope to learn a lot from this forum.
cheers!
Dan
