Greetings from Connecticut
I have been an active sport cyclist since the 80's. I tried my hand at competitive riding a few times without much to show except getting in good shape. My training is inconsistent, but I enjoy going out for a spin around the block as much as a 50 mile training ride. My old road bike, a top of the line Pinarello from the early 80's, had worn out after a couple of decades of hard use. When I started to look around I discovered just how many new options there were and kept putting off making a commitment. In the interim I focused on running since it worked with my travel schedule and I road my mountain bike for cross training.
About a year ago I made the plunge into the latest generation of bikes and bought a new CF ride. Yes, I went with Pinarello again since I had such great experience with my steel version. I picked up an FP3 at the model change time for a great price. It came with the full Ultegra groupo and Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels. All I've changed is the seat and the handlebars. The wheels will be next, but I'm not complaining about the 7's.
I now ride with Bethel Cycle in Bethel, CT. I'm not racing, just getting my legs back and enjoying being part of a community. Plus, the team kit is pretty cool!
I should thank you already since I ping this site when I have mechanical questions or need a sanity check.
I am looking forward to getting to know some of you virtually. Thanks, in advance, for showing the hospitality.
