Hello from Omaha

Hello everyone. I've been biking my entire life, but didn't do it much for the past 10 years and hardly at all the last few. I have started biking a lot more this year.

I mainly mountain bike the local trails and recently joined our local trail advocacy group, but I also commute 2/3 of the time to work which is a 14 mile round trip. Just tonight I decided to put 1.25 tires on my MTB for the commute (after reading a few posts on this forum).

I am excited to gather more info from this site and join the community!

Hi Jason, Welcome to Bike Forums.
Are you getting slick tires to smooth out the commute?

I got the slick tires due to the fact that I had spent $100 on Kenda Small Block Eights recently. The rear tire was showing signs of wear already, so I figured I would get slicks. I also hope that my speed will increase somewhat with these new tires. I know that the diameter is smaller and therefore I will be turning more rpm's, but I am hoping that my current gearing will still be adequate.
