Back in the saddle again.

Greetings My friends;
At the young age of 56 and after a 25 year sabbatical I am now returning to the art of the Velocepede. This spring after being exciled for decades to the rafters of my garage,termites and rot caused my old 1980 Nishiki kamikazi bike to fall on my Harley-Davidson. I was going to shoot the poor bike {the Nishiki**to put it out of its misery but couldnt bring myself to do it. I have patched it up and have been riding about 8 to 10 miles a day. It is in need of a rebuild but I have been patching it up until this winter when I can do a proper fix. I had forgotten how much I loved this bike. My body is slowly waking up,I am beginning to fell pretty good. I dont feel like hacking and puking when I climb a big hill any more & my friends and colleages dont recognise me in my bike togs.
I have been lurking on this site for a while and would like to join the land of the living. Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome to BikeForums.
If you love the Nishiki, try to imagine how much you'd love and enjoy a new 2010 bike with 30 years of improvements.

Stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the "old farts".
