Checking in from Seattle. I commute 12 miles each way starting at 5:30 and I love it. The sky was the most amazing purple this morning, but it looks like I'll be biking under the stars soon the whole trip! I started commuting about 2 months ago and the greatest thing I've noticed is the complete absence of depression in my life all the sudden, just from getting fit and active. I don't even care about loosing weight or anything like that, but feeling better AND not contributing to war and environmental destruction, what could be more perfect? I have been biking in the rain for two weeks it seems, thank heaven for polar fleece!
How do you other bikers keep the rain out of your eyes?
I bought a Giant Cypress hybrid and its okay, I'm beginning to be frustrated with the upright position vs power thing, but its very comfortable, light and strong and was a good price, so in the future I figure I will know more about what I want before I spend the big bucks.
