Greeting fro Madison,WI

Hello all,

Just moved into the city and a week later my wife and I have bikes. I mainly use for commuting (about 6 miles round trip) along numerous bike paths in city. We also get out and just ride with our 4 year old in tow.

I picked up a used Raliegh M-80 on craigslist for my first bike purchase in prolly 20 years. The bike had road tires put on and was used mainly as a commuter from who I bought it from. I love the bike and all but think it might be too slow. I"ve been eyeing the Specialized Sirrus and Cannondale Quick 4.

Any help on choosing a flat bar road bike would be great.

Put a 1000 miles on it before you get a new bike.

I just recently bought a Sirrus Elite at Erik's on the west side of Madison. It's a great bike. Use it as my ride to work as well as for rides out in the country. I think it's going to replace my Cannondale as my favorite bike.

Hi. I agree with 10 wheels, get some mileage on before you jump for another bike. BY then you will know better what you need for your riding style and conditions. Welcome to the forums.
