Hey what's up? I'm joining here cause I moved to Austin, TX awhile ago from Asheville, NC.
I have been riding bikes for a while but never really cared what bike I was riding nor did I invest
any money into them. Now that I am living in Austin I ride my bike about 6-7 miles to work and
back every day and though I feel my bike is pretty good (though it does have some issues that are bothering me) I have decided to take the chance of converting it into a single speed, on account
that I am always getting zoomed by people riding them. The bike I am converting is a hybrid Marin
Larkspur that I got from an old roomate a long time ago who left it at my house. I have afew questions I will post in a seperate thread. Just thought I would introduce myself with that.
PS- I also have a Nishiki racing bike that I will not be converting into a single speed but will be fixing for my girlfriend since her bike got stolen a couple weeks ago. But she is pregnant and wont need it for
afew months, though I will have some questions about that project when I come to it.
Oh and also I stole my friends "Home-bum" bike (which is a huffy) and gutted it out and plan on turning that into a single speed for him on his birth day. So I have that one that I want to start working on as I work on mine with some spare parts from mine.
Looking forward to learning and some stuff and just checking out the forum.
