hallo! from pittsburgh

Hiya - just registered - my husband & I have 2002 Raleigh c40s for vacations but need bikes for home (the current bikes stay at his mom's), so...that's about it.

We like riding on the many trails along the rivers, when they aren't flooded....

Hi Jacquez from Pittsburgh - I'm from Prospect (Butler Co) - just registered myself! My wife and son and I usually hit the Moraine Park Trail, the Stavitch Trail in New Castle (goes from New Castle to Struthers, OH) and some open road work (a little scary with PGH drivers!!). We're planning to do the Sandy Creek Trail up near Franklin this weekend (it's AppleFest in Franklin this weekend). Have you ever ridden it? If so, what can you tell me about it?

I usually take my Bianchi Project 1 (1995) on the trail, and my wife rides a Diamondback Approach (1995). My son just got a Diamondback mountain bike. I usually ride my road bike on the road. Welcome to the forum (like I'm a veteran or something!)!

no, I haven't ridden the Sandy Creek Trail. My brothers used to ride the Moraine Park Trail a lot, though - at the time I was staying mostly in the city (Frick Park, the cemetaries, etc) because I didn't drive and couldn't get all the way out there. (I know, I know...bike out...but I was just a kid.)

These days we've been borrowing the bikes from my husband's work - they keep 4 around for employees to use - and since he works on the North Side of Pgh, we've biked up and down that section of the Three Rivers Heritage trail. It's a nice ride up the Allegheny, but not very challenging!
