New to Forum

Hi,

My name is John and I have recently started to get into road biking. I am doing it mostly for fitness and to lose weight but I must say that it is quite addicting. I dont get out much during the week because my commute to Boston doesn't leave me with much daylight so I try to get to two or three spin classes at my gym during the week. I try to get out on the road for a 3-4 hour ride each weekend. I am hoping to learn something on here from those who have been at it much longer.

Thanks
John

Hello John,
Bike Forums has a few members that commute in Boston.

What road bike do you have?

I have a Giant OCR3. It was not too expensive and I am happy with it so far. My commute would be about 30 miles each way but I may try it next summer. Its getting dark way too early now!

30 miles would way to far for most commuters.

It takes me an hour and a half to do it in the car on many days I would not lose too much time doing it on the bike and it would be a heck of a lot more fun. But you are right it's a bit long.

Some riders drive part of the way, park the vehicle, then ride the remaining distance.
