Greetings from Montreal/Quebec

I've been mostly to local forums that often link to threads on this board, so I decied to check it out. Gr8 forum lots of action, and the commuting specific board is nice!!!

About me... Well I'l 26yr old, and I work with computers, sitting on my derriere all day long. So I'm glad to have the bike to comute to work and keep me healthy and sane, or pleasantly insane I might say.

Any folks from montreal? Specificaly in the Lachine area?

Bonjour ! Je suis de Montréal, mais du Mile-End.

Hello from Montréal. I am closer to the centre (Mile End). On weekdays, I commute to work by bike because I am often too lazy ot too much in a hurry to walk. And I sometimes do evening rides once the kids are in bed. During weekends, it's moslty day rides with both children on the tandem + trailercycle.

I recently bought "Le Quebec Cyclable" by Ulysse. There are ride maps for many places like Montreal, Quebec, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, and many others. I hope to get there for a cycling vacation with the family this fall or spring.

Do you ride for pleasure as well as commuting?

Michel: I've aslo seen you on the velocia board. Didn't know you were here as well.

Chris : I ride for many more things then commuting. I ride for pleasure, health, sanity, spirituality, relaxation... I am trying to get into winter biking as well, as biking is too much of a positive thing in my life right now to stop.

Welcome Benyben - I'm pretty close to you in Montreal West. I commute to St Hubert airport on the South Shore 2 or 3 days a week from Apr to Nov (providing there isnt rain in the forecast). My favorite recreational rides are to St Anne de Belleview, and around Lake of 2 Mtns via Oka and Hudson.
