Hello from New Orleans!

Hey everybody! Budding velophile here! Thanks to this site I was able to identify that I own a 1971 Schwinn Sports Tourer! I bought her used a few years back and because of the layout of the city, I'm finally riding 50+ miles a week for school and work! Already popping tires (worst roads ever) and feeling her age (replaced skewers, chains, cables, etc) and this site has been very helpful. I hope to learn more and do a complete rebuild soon!

Welcome to BikeForums! I lived in N.O. (westbank) for about 10 years, then I woke up and moved back out to the country. Still, I love visiting there when I get the chance.

Is that UNO campus your bike is parked at? That building looks familiar.

That was at the Elmwood campus of Tulane University. I got back into riding because of the commute. There's an amazing bike path along the river levee that you can ride all the way there. I love it.

You know, in all the years I lived in N.O. I never rode the levee. Maybe one of these days I'll get out there, I've got a few buddies who ride it regularly.
