Howdy from Texas!
The name is James. I was really serious about riding back in the 80's. Been off and on over the years. Now I feel newely motivated about the sport again, although more for fun and fitness than racing and competition. I've been riding a Haro Escape Mountainbike with street tires. I bought the bike in 2000. I have a Tommasini with Shimano 600 hanging on the wall that I bought in 84'.
I found this place a few weeks ago and have been poking around and learing. I appreciate this site and want to say thanks!

Welcome aboard and e komo mai!
Didn't realize that there's a Maui in Texas. If there's also a Haleakala it must be one of the better kept secrets in the universe...

I just joined too (see "Another Howdy from Texas"). Newly relocated to Texas (Houston, specifically) and bikeless (temporarily). I would say Welcome, but you were here first (both in Texas and online).
Edit: And apparently I have a thing for parentheses.

Thanks for the warm greetings (and parentheses :O) Deer Park is just SE of Houston by the San jacinto Monument and the Battleship Texas. I'd love to share my Tommasini in the vintage section. I pulled it all apart the other day to clean it up and service it. After I get it back together I'll take some pics and post them. Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to update the frame with new components or leave it on the wall with the Shimano 600 group as a vintage classic to look at.
