Another Howdy from Texas!
Well I just graduated college and moved to Texas from North Carolina for the most common reason ever - employment.
Now that I have my own funds - I want a new bike! Or really, just a bike at all. I left my old one at home (Wal-Mart bike ). My goal is to join a club so I can go on group rides/long rides and things like that. I've never done any of that before, so I will be learning. I don't currently ride at all, but that's because I don't have a bike.
So, I am here to learn about buying a bike (I plan to visit a bike store soon). I'm definitely going to get a proper fitting bike though - my mom rides a mountain bike around the neighborhood at home and she had it fitted. It's an unusual size for her (5'8) - and I like it better than my own bike! Just goes to show fit is important I guess? I used to borrow her bike a lot and all I did was raise the seat an inch or so (and I am 6' ).
