Hello from Wausau, WI
Just getting back into cycling after a 32 year lay-off. Sad but true. I'm not in to the skinny little seats for my fat little rear, so I bought myself and my wife two TREK Calypso Cruiser 7-speed. I also bought my 20 year old son a TREK Navigator 300 in hopes he will ride with us. If not, he can use it at college.
As I progress, I will be looking to upgrade and will keep an eye on this forum for information on what to look for. Seems like a great forum. |
You say you are:
"OLD AND OUT OF SHAPE" You may be OUT OF SHAPE, but you definitely are NOT old. I got you beat by 7 years. We have at least 144 folks 50+, and one person in their mid 80's. We have a whole bunch of us who make you a youngster. Please read about us on the 50+ (Fifty Plus) Forum. Welcome. There are a lot of us more mature members of bikeforums.net http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=220 Enjoy the forum. |
I knew I found the right forum. Calling me a youngster. :D I also like the term more mature. :) I may not be the oldest but I would bet almost anything that I am the most out of shape. I should have started this adventure in my life last spring. It won't be long and we will have snow on the ground up here. I did take the 50+ survey last night. Thanks for the feedback.

Before you looked at the comfort bikes did you consider recumbents? They are wonderful for us "more mature" types.

I've seen folks riding those around town but I've never tried one. Might not hurt to look in to it though. I'll try anything once.
