Hello from Milwaukee Wisconsin

I took up cycle commuting 7 miles each way in mid June 2010. This was a reaction to a health crises initially, my weight was elevated, my AC1 was type 2 Diabetic, my blood pressure was elevated and my lipids were off the chart. As my doctor said, I was a walking heart attack at age 49.

In about 120 days I have lost almost 40lbs. My AC1 is down so far I am no longer considered Diabetic. My outlook has improved 100% in all aspects of my life. At first my co-workers were dismissive. But as the pounds melted off, the tan appeared and the huge smile along with it, they started to get it also.

We still have 2 cars, but I rarely drive anywhere.
