Welcome to the site! Is it safe to assume you have a Trek bike of some sort, or does portlandtrek refer to something else?

my trek has been a good commuter for the last year and a half and i just started a project for my daughter

Awesome! I've always been partial to Trek and Specialized. When I started getting serious about biking, I ditched my blue-light-special Kmart bike and got a Specialized Hardrock. Unfortunately, when my wife and I moved to TX from MI back in 2007, the bike had to stay behind. That same year, I purchased two Trek 3700's and they've been holding up really well. For Christmas, I'll be getting either a Trek or a Specialized road bike for the wifey... annnnd, possibly one for myself, depending on whether or not I can keep up with her on my Mountain Bike. For the price, they're definitely hard to beat!

yes i havent had any issues with the portland model eventually i think ill go to a heavier wheel the race style wheels only have 24 spokes and i have to true wheels every once in awhile purchased a trek wsd for my wife last year alas she had trouble with her clips while riding and crashed a couple times so she is a little shy about riding lol
