Greating from the former home of the US f-1 grand prix, Long Beach CA

So I've been riding since I was child, like most of I suppose. Always just for fun and now for a little workout. I came upon this site while looking for info on a beat up old bike I found at a yard sale. The name Eddy Merekx did'nt mean anything to me, at the time, but it had the components of my of my childhood dreams, Campagnolo! That name was magic when I was a kid, lets say 45 years ago, and the $20.00 was exchanged. Thanks to our friendly net I'm up to speed on the cannibal(amazing) and have checked out all the sites but I'm not any closer to IDing the bike than when I started.I'm posting some pics If anyone wants to take a shot at it. Sorry to say it was striped down paint and all before I realised it was important for id purposes not to but the only decal left on the bike were the ones on the downtube and a sort of rainbow one on the head. In the long run it does'nt matter much to me as my last road bike, along with my full suspended mountain bike were recently stolen, leaving me with only my trek commuter and I can't wait to get this one together and ride!

Welcome to Bike Forums. Glad you learned a little about Eddy Merckx. He was/is a cycling legend.
The folks in the Classic & Vintage forum (farther down the main Bike Forums page) can probably give you lots of info about the bike. And they LOVE pics.

I'm guessing you're over 50 so when you get a chance stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the "old timers". I'm one of them. I'll be 66 in a few weeks.
