Percy from Shoreline, Washington
Hey there~
I've been riding about 7 years after a 10-year hiatus following a wreck. Guy made a left in front of me as I was flying down a hill. I had three broken toes, road-rash and 15 stitches in my head. My neighbor used the remains of my '92 Diamondback for his metal shop class. I hear it is now a coffee table.
My friend gave me an old Sekai she found at a thrift store to use for Burning Man (which I did not go to). I started riding around in a nearby cemetery, venturing out to side streets and within a year I was bombing all over town. I wear a helmet now.
I cant say I'm a commuter b/c work (not a 9-5) is the only place I dont ride to. I just whiz around town. Haven't been on any long hauls or overnights, though I'd like to.
I like to keep food on the table of my LBS which is fitting as I don't know how (yet) to build or repair a bike.
A typical buzz around the block is about 20 miles. On gorgeous days, 40-50. I'll take a day off every now and again. Winter means more days off than I like.
I had the Sekai maintained for as long as she could hold out. In July 09 I finally bought a new bike, the Marin. I love her to pieces. Nothing fancy and I cant cite specs (yet) but she is my best friend most days. I've had fenders and a rack put on for school commutes and am looking at lighting her up for more night riding.
Nice to meet you all, see you around~

Sure thing. I was starting to feel creepy out there in the bushes.
