Hi from Texas!!!!!!
I have already posted a couple times on the 50+ forum. I used to ride, and haven't in some years. I picked up an old Cannondale a few weeks ago from a second hand store and have dubbed it 'The Lemon' maybe as I learn more it will look better, but the learning is a welcome adventure.
I got it as a gift to myself after I left the local school system in aggravation. Not to discuss politics here, but our children are wonderful, and they are the future, and our wonderful teachers and staff need more support than they get, sometimes.
I am enthusiastic and since The Lemon didn't cost much, it is going to get taken apart and put back together so I can learn. I changed the chain (a little thing, yes, but for someone who had never done anything like that, it made me feel that this stuff is all possible.)
I'm mystified by the concepts of fit, but I have enough trust in myself and in the many who take the time to give their thoughts and advice here, that if I remember that God gave me one mouth and two ears (with hearing aids) and listen carefully, I can learn this stuff.
I'm trying, at the behest of my doctor, to lose a few pounds and maybe biking will help. On the other hand, I've just been introduced to the concept of pie and that is immensely appealling
I appreciate this site and the people in it. One of the members has already volunteered to show me how to fix a flat that The Lemon acquired yesterday. (Thank you, 10Wheels)
This site, and y'all, are awesome.

There is a picture in the 50+ thread. Did not give very much for it; but that's OK, The Lemon is just like me, old and needing a bit of work

Welcome aboard, I see you posted your location here. I must have skipped over this thread the last day or two. As noted in the 50+ section; glad to see other Texans here; albeit (Houston) very far removed from Fritch.
