bike for my son

im thinking of getting my son a mountain bike so he can come biking with me, my son is 10 years old. Im thinking of getting him a specialized enduro with 160mm of travel as i ride some quite rough terrain, does anyone think this is to much travel for a first bike and some one so young. Thanks for your replys in advance

3300 $ for a bike he will grow out of very soon, fine if you can afford it. A rigid Mtb with wide tires woud be a better idea IMO. Find an old 12 or 13 " rigid bike from the early nineties and let him play around with that. If he loves the sport then he will tell you what kind of bike he needs soon enough.
