What Cheer from Chilly Providence, RI!
Hiya all,
I'm a fairly consistent lurker finally emerging from the shadows. I've been biking around the Providence, RI area for the past four years or so, though the intensity's definitely increased over the past year or two. My bike is my only means of personal transportation— though my commute is only a short 3 1/2 jaunt across town. I also try to get longer rides in on the weekends, the longest being a ~60 trip through the northwestern boonies of the state I did a handful of times last summer.
My current bike is a 1982 Schwinn LeTour, original champagne color. I recently converted it into a fixed gear. I've really enjoyed the fixie feel so far, and pounding up the hills around town has done wonders for my legs.
I'm interested in overhearing and sometimes joining in on the discussions about commuting, fixed gear biking, the car-free lifestyle, and Northeastern rides.
