Newbie to BikeForums

Hello to all. Decided to join this forum and be a part of this great place to share info on biking. I've been riding for about six years and started out with an old 10-speed that I got from a swap meet for $15. Changed two tires, some cables and greased it up and rode it on our local "Century Ride". Later on I picked up a '99 GT XCR-4000 and been riding it since. I've changed the fork springs and rear shock spring to slightly stiffer ones to compensate for my weight (185). I need the "full suspension" due to the fact that I'm an old fart and I have to take care of my bones (slightly brittle). I have another upcoming century ride to go on but I want to do major maintenance on the whole bike like greasing everything that moves. I am a firm beliver in preventive maintenance rather than fix it when it breaks. Glad to be a part of this terrific forum and if I can share info to anybody I will........

Two legs.....two wheels.........the coincidence is uncanny. - me
