Hello everyone! I'm new here and have a question...
Hello all! Not sure if this is a good spot to post this, but what the heck. I just moved to Baltimore and I'm interested in getting a commuter bike... saw this online. Thoughts comments?
009 58cm Nishiki aluminum touring frame built to accommodate commuting/cyclocross needs that I need to get rid of due to space issues.
Chris King headset
Shimano 105 rear der...I have a front der. but have not installed (I just switch by hand depending on my mood)
Shimano 105 downtube friction/indexed shifters
Shimano Deore XT 700c wheelset w/ultegra cassette, included original xt skewers
Sugino 170 cranks w/ Shimano chain rings standard road gearing 39-53
Tekro breaks with jag wire cables
Oury grips, no name riser bars, seatpost and saddle(comfy though)
Matching front and rear adjustable fenders in white
For $400. Whaddya think?
Thanks.

Go for it.
I started on a Nishiki.
Post some pics when you get it cleaned up and ready to ride.

if it fits and all the parts work (and it's not dented) get it and ride the heck out of it. Make sure the seatpost isn't all seized up.

Some old bikes that people sell on craigslist have the stem or seatpost corroded so they can't be adjusted up and down. A lot of bikes can look very good in other ways, but if the saddle height is a bit off but you think, "oh I can just adjust that when I get home" only to find out it's stuck in place and you're out of luck. Still rideable if it's the right height for you, but just less adjustable should your needs change or you want to sell it. If it's been well maintained that's rather unlikely, but that's just one of the little things to check for when buying your first used bike.

Thanks himespau. I thought that might be what you meant. So it seems like a good price?
