Hey hey! Another Commuter Cyclist Here

Hi everyone!

Im Martin, a student in England and I really really really like them two wheeled things called bikes! Both the motor and push type

Not been on a push bike since I had my Diamondback stolen a few years ago but since being at uni and working part time and also having my motorbike stolen two years ago, I got back in to the two wheeled things as soon as money allowed.

Here is my current ride i received today and been out for a quick blast and can't wait to take her apart and get her all greased up ready for the spring/summer ahead.

Raleigh Flyer 1980's Race Bike.

Its my first ever race/road bike and i cant wait to add some more mileage to it!

Im also a bit of a handy man and like to keep myself and my hands busy so for the past 3 months I have been scouring the internet and mostly ebay for spare parts/groupset/wheels for a Saracen early 90's hardtail mountain bike. Its the one on the left, all primered and waiting for the next sunny day which was actually today but I was busy doing websites for people

The Saracen is alu framed and will have road tyres and 7gears, all calculated for the roads where I live. Mostly new parts are going on, reason for re-spray is that it was luminous green and some of the parts where starting to rust. Going to be gloss white like other bikes I have refurbished in the past.

The bike on the right was a frame i picked up last week off of ebay for a bargain 10. Dawes Amora 19". Dont know what i will be doing with it yet, maybe purple? May even leave the frame and get the bike assembled with the cheapest parts I can.

See you around Leeds, the north of England and highlands of Scotland. As i frequent the north west coast a lot as my parents recently moved up there, cant wait to take the race bike in April for a great week cycling, fell walking and some swimming.

HI 10 wheels!

Thanks, been on many a forum before and understand i will be asking a lot of questions before i will be answering some =]

Did the 5 mile commute to work today on the Raleigh and wow, even for a steel framed bike it was incredible, even on the hilly terrain Leeds has to offer.

Time to head over to another part of the forum now me thinks
