hey
Hi All.
I'm an architect, giving up my car in 1981, riding pretty much since, with a big help from public transportation here in Brooklyn and NYC. My daughter, now 10 has gotten me back into the swing of things, us even repairing our first flat yesterday.
I also have a blog on pedestrian and bike safety who's purpose it to come up with new ideas on how to reach people on the basics. It's called Know the Fundamentals at wordpress, and if my signature works there should be a link.
Here's a pict of my 1984 12-speed SupraSport, worn treads and all.

she's holding up NC but I think it's about time to replace a couple parts like the tires and handlebar grips. In fact last summer the pedal crank arm actually broke clean off, lol. It was cheap enough to replace, maybe $8 but took a long walk back to get to the bike shop.
Since I've started riding again I've been outfitting her with lights and the AirZound which has already come in handy (although the trigger makes you take your hand off the brake to use it). With the extra accessories I decided to also get a little Gallop Bicycle Alarm.
