Howdy from NW Arkansas

Hello to all.

Sixty five on Friday. Got back in cycling last May to loose some weight and
get in at least good enough shape to mow the damn yard.
Did about 10k miles last year and just over 3k so far this year. Lost over
70lbs so far.

Married, one child, five grand kids, retired free lance photographer, teacher,
engineer, some work in law enforcement.

Blue water sailor, pilot. Wife, retired model, lawyer, now flies for large corp.
Married 8 years, been together for 17.

Primary hobby, RC boats.

Buy and rebuild old bikes, not necessarily vintage, just nice older bikes.
Working on a "91 Trek 720 Multi Track at the time.

Average about 40 miles a day with a top of 126.

Main ride is a Schwinn Aluminum Comp mountain bike with road tires.
Second choice is 1975 Spalding ATB with refit aluminum wheels and
slicks.

I ride mainly streets and paved trails.

6', 218lbs, blood type A. Scottish decent. What else do you need to know.

Want to thank you all for the welcomes, but, this is the only positive place I have found on this site.
This is the largest gathering of self centered snobs I have ever seen. Of my twenty odd post, I have
only been acknowledged three times and they have all been negative or pointing out spelling errors.

After checking out several bike forums, I am just not cut out for this. I was raised not to be rude,
not to go our of my way to be rude. It seems bike people are rude!

Nice to have you.

Can you post a pic of your wife cutting the grass?

Have you posted in The Fifty Plus Forum?

Howdy neighbor! Where 'bouts are you, anyway? I'm in Winslow.....30mi's south of Fayetteville. Yeah, there's some snobs about.....I just ignore'em, myself. Not all bike people are rude, though. Seems to me cycling could/should be a genuine way of reconnecting or remaining in contact with a simple purity in life.........you know, like when you were a kid. How the snobbery happens? I don't know.......who cares? F'it! Wheat from the chaff, man. There's some good folks on here, too.
