Nice to be riding again
Hello,
I've ridden since I was a little kid and had a lot of fun riding around Brooklyn and Manhattan when I moved to NYC in 2003. Motorcycle riding and a lot of walking with my dog are to blame for my non-usage of my bicycle the last couple years, but I dug it out and pumped up the tires last weekend. It felt good to be back in the saddle even though the old thing wasn't in tip-top condition. I left it in the very capable hands of 718 Cyclery in Park Slope at the end of my ride for a tune-up and am heading back to their shop to pick it up tomorrow. Looking forward to starting to ride to work (about 8 miles each way) and around my neighborhood to see friends, run errands, etc.
I'll have gear, technique, and route suggestion questions as I go (and hopefully some stories and tips as well), so...thought it worth joining the forum.
Nice to meet everyone, looking forward to joining some discussions.
