New member-
Ian from Easton Pa, 29 years old and am looking to get into cycling. Posted this message under the hybrid section. Figured I'd post this here to see if i could get some responses from knowledgeable people.
New rider. Looking for hybrid/fitness style bike that can do path, trail, and road riding. Don't need a bike to do extreme mnt biking. I'm 29, 6 ft and 225lbs.
I have been to a couple bike shops. I am stuck between which bikes to purchase. One is at Dicks- Diamondback Insight. Purchase price of 399 but I can get it discounted by 10% and they'll take care of any problems within the first yr of the bike
Second bike is a Cannondale Quick 6 in last years model. Purchase price of 389 but they'll only take care of problems within first 30 days and cover the frame for the year.
Both are right around 375 - 400dollars. My questions are: is one bike better than the other? Are these decent bikes for what I'm looking for? Are the controls, brakes, couplers, sockets, etc any better in either model?
I like the look of the insight better but I realize cannondale is one of the better names out there. I know bikes are like cars and you can have or purchase an unlimitted number of upgrades. I'm just trying to get the most out of my money. Any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
