Hello from San Angelo, Texas

Getting my official first post out here. I have been lurking a little bit, lots of good information here. I know biking in my area is pretty big, several races and lots of road and trail riding available. I have only been trail riding, but would like to try some road riding. I'm trying to get back into riding after knee surgery, gonna take it slow and build back up while reading the abundance of post available.

I currently have a Trek Fuel EX 6, my local bike shop was able to hook me up with the right size and a decent price, I have only put about 90 miles, weak I know, on it so far. I would like to get a road bike of some sort, something I can ride to and from the gym and log some road miles on to build up my leg strength. Not sure what brand, nothing too crazy on price, thinking 1k ish would get me something descent. My local bike shops carry, from what I can remember, Trek, Felt, and Specialized.

Sounds as if you have a good bike shop.
Brand is not as important as a good fit and bike shop to help you with questions and warranty problems.

I have 30,000 miles on a $800 105 9 Speed Felt F-85.

Small world. I just left San Angelo a couple years ago, after living there for almost six years.
