Found my way back to cycling a couple of years ago, after 15 years away, in hopes that it would keep my moving parts moving with more joy than drudgery (I'm 60 now, on the threshold of geezertude). Try to get 100 miles/week in, mostly recreational on paths (quite a bit of that after dark, for schedule reasons) and country roads in Middlesex County (longer day rides, 30-60 miles, weekends). Did a little bike commuting (25-mile round-trip) last year, and may return to it this year. Goals this year are to try some credit card touring and do a century ride.
Mostly ride a 2010 Surly LHT, but set up my 1987 GT Karakorum as an ice bike when Boston froze over this year--that was interesting. A mid-70s Raleigh Grand Prix sits in the basement muttering "restore me or donate me", but thus far I've ignored it. Have a late-blooming interest in bike mechanics, with the result that lube is getting into everything.
