St. Louis Nooob

Hi everyone.

I am a college student who lives in Collinsville, Il and commutes via my road bike to SIU Edwardsville 4 days a week for school. I am currently in my Junior year of Mechanical Engineering.

I have been riding bikes my whole life and ever since I was probably 12 have been riding the trails in my home town of Centralia Il USA. I currently own 3 bikes. The first and oldest (to me) is my BMX bike, it is a late 1990 model Dyno Zone that I have owned for close to 10 years and loved every minute of it. My second bike is a cheap walmart 2004 Mongoose XR-200 that has been upgraded more than any walmart bike ever should be lol. Over the last 2 months I have put all of this on it.

Shimano Alivio Rear Derailleur
Shimano Alivio Crank 22-32-42 tooth 175mm length
Shimano Acera Front Derailleur
Shimano Combined Brake and Speed Shifter set
Shimano Alivio Front and Rear V-Brakes
Sun Ringle Rhyno Lite XL Rear wheel set with Shimano Deore Hub
And am planning on getting a matching front rim

And my third bike is a late 1980's Raleigh Capri that I just got last weekend for $30 off of craigslist. I will get photos of all three bikes when I get a chance. Currently all of them are needing a little work. The Dyno needs a new rear tire, the Mongoose is at my LBS getting its new BB and Crank put on right now, and the Raleigh is awaiting its new rear wheel set to come in the mail (I'm converting it from 27" to 700C).

I look forward to talking to everyone on here and helping you with your issues/questions as you help me. Also, if anyone lives in the Collinsville/Edwardsville area, hit me up and we can go ride.
