Hello from Orlando, FL !
Hey, been a bit of a lurker for some time now but I figured why not just sign up already! Anyway Ive been an avid Bike rider for about a year now, started with a cheap bike until i was hit by a car then needed a bike fast, found an old Nishiki sport bike in my grandmothers attic that was my aunts in 77' back up in New York City. Rebuilt, polished, and upgraded it since and I am almost inseparable from it! Went and bought a new Nishiki Pueblo Mountain bike back in March to help me out on my grocery runs and although i already have many upgrades in mind for it i love it to death too!
I am a handyman kinda guy, i volunteer as a mechanic in our campus's bicycle co-op where most laugh at the fact I started with classic cars, worked my way to mopeds, and now repair bicycles, I started from the top down they say, which has proven to have given me a great deal on insight into different tools and repair techniques.
I'm on a suffocating college budget so Don't knock the fact I haven't put higher quality parts on my bikes but I make due the best I can, I had to set aside a budget for a long time to get the wheel set I have now to replace the old chrome 27's which where falling apart.
Also I never cease to get **** over the fact I refuse to remove my cottered cranks, I like em', yes they are a pain in the butt to maintain and adjust but I love the vintage look they maintain on the bike amidst all the other improvements I have had to make.
Looking forward to being a part of the community!
