Hello from Sheffield, UK
Hi,
I've been riding since I could walk - I was brought up in a very flat area of England and *everyone* cycled there back then. I have done/still do cycle-camping, tours, leisure rides and commuting mainly in UK but I've also ridden at least a little in France, US, Turkey, China, Spain and probably one or two more. I usually ride alone, but sometimes with one or both of my grown up daughters.
I've mainly ridden touring bikes such as the Dawes Super Galaxy but over the past few years I've also got a folder for convenience and a more rugged bike with hydraulic disk brakes for year-round city commuting. I love knowing that the bike will stop when I ask it to. (Sheffield is the hilliest city in the UK, it sometimes rains and the average driver's skill level is, well, er, average.)
I'm hoping to do more cycling than my current meagre quota (mainly daily commute) in a few years when I retire.
David
