New Clydesdale from Houston Texas!

Decided now is the time I try to lose my Clydesdale status. Bought a bike last April but I think I rode it maybe 3 times. lol

This week I have rode every day and told myself I will join in with the community here to help give me that added push and accountability. Loved riding when I was younger but when I switched to IT I got lazy and fat.

Time to change it all!

Right now I am only doing 3 miles a day at roughly 10 mph. But I am trying to remember it has to start somewhere. Today is my first day of stepping it up to 2 rides a day (morning, evening).

I am 5'9" and weigh in at 362 lbs. Goal weight because I am legitimately a large frame guy is 200 lbs. Have told myself when I get to 250 I will get a road bike and at 225 I will get a motorcycle.

Out near Sugarland area

and I am not 100% on the motorcycle. Houston traffic makes one constantly question it. Honestly I am starting to get hooked to the pedals and if I can shed some of this weight and get on a road bike I may just stick with that.

But one step - one mile at a time right now.

You are doing good.

I started with 5 mile rides.
Did 40 miles one day, 5 miles at a time.
80 laps around the block.

Go slow and have fun.
The more you pedal the stronger you will become.

Howdy and welcome to the forums! Sounds like a good plan, make sure and check in on the Clydesdale / Athena section for inspiration when needed, some great folks in there.
