+1 Bike Forum-ee
Hey my name is Mike, I live in Washington. Technically I've been biking all my life, but the last few years I've been getting more into Mountain Biking. I enjoy riding through tough trails, and pushing myself up each hill. Probably the adrenaline rush is what makes it exciting. Going to college next year, and I know that I'll need a nice bike for transportation and for fun on all the trails I've heard about near campus. My last two bikes have been walmart brand bikes, and I ride hard mountain trails so they both failed me and utterly fell to pieces in under a year each. This last year, my physics teacher who’s obsessed with riding has been talking to me about how great single speed bikes are, and so I’m trying to find a bike that can fit everything I like in a bike. The main reason I joined this forum was to get some input from experienced riders, and learn more about biking as well as meet others with similar interests. I need a reliable mountain bike that has a track forkend, SS (I only used one gear when I biked before anyways), disc brakes (so I don’t go through rims too often), hardtail, and front suspension. Because I’m just getting into “real” biking I don’t exactly know where to look for all of this, so if I have to mix and match a frame and parts I can do that, but I was wondering if I could get some input and help purchasing? Furthermore, I’d like to keep my budget at eight hundred. I'm excited to be a part of this community! wooooooooo

build one to your needs. And welcome to the Forum.
I put together parts from three junk yard or dump ground bikes to get a single speed, basically just an old shimano wheel set on a early model Huffy 10 speed mtn bike frame. With a handle bar set off an old vertical bike.
Good for riding around the streets and trails but not really for off road riding. I have a Diamond back that has enough brakes for me at the speeds i go off road, but I could see where Disk could come in handy.
good luck
