Noob who wants her mojo back
Hello,
I am trying to re-learn bike riding for family fun but have lost my mojo. I'm over the hill and also scared of all hills but remember loving to bike when I was a kid. I bought a mountain bike but I hate the hand brakes!! I know it's pathetic but I miss the old coaster brakes and I'm not sure I can retrain my brain or body to learn handbrakes. I'm hoping this forum will help me get out there on some kind of bike just so I can be with my kid and hubby for family fun.

Welcome to the forums. To me, the best way to overcome the fear is to go out and try. Your body and mind will learn faster than you think.

Welcome aboard! I wouldn't be too worried, I recently rejoined biking and was dealing with very minor hills on a VERY heavy 3 speed and was thinking to myself... this is just too much, but within a week or two it became basic again. There's both a hybrid and a mountain biking set of forums as well for any specific info you might want.
