Hello From NYC

My name is Vinny and I am getting back into riding. I use to ride all the time but kind of stopped when I hit 35. Looking to get back into it.

I use to bike all over the place, jump on the bike and ride 25 miles into Manhattan and back. I did the 5 boro tour twice but after hitting 35 life got in the way of riding. Some Bikes I have owned is Fuji Regis, Schwin World, Panasonic dx3000 and the bike I am looking to buy again now a Fuji Allegro. I have been searching EBay and Craigslist for the last few weeks.

Looking forward to get back into it.

Thanks for the welcome, I can't seem to find a place to post that I am looking for a bike? What forum is the wanted one. I see it for jobs and stuff but not for bikes.

Hey Vinny.

I'm from Queens so we're really neighbors and we almost have the same story too! I'm also getting back into the swing of riding again after many years away. I'm 52 years old now, but I'm still pretty good physically. My wife had bought me a Trek mountain bike that I've been riding this summer, (getting out into traffic again was really some fun!)but after awhile I knew I wanted to get a road bike again. So I'm waiting on a vintage 1990(?) Miyata 1400a I purchased to come. From all I've read and heard its a good bike and I think (hope!) I got a good deal. I can't wait to get on it and really put some miles in.

Hey, maybe we'll run into each other sometime! Good luck!

Just wanted to update this and say that I bought the Fuji Allegro just like I wanted. Now I need to have the weather get warmer.

Here is a page I made and a video of my trip down the west side of Manhattan https://www.vinnyfrombrooklyn.com/blo...-in-manhattan/

Only thing I need now is a more comfortable seat.

Nice bike Vinny.

Takes time for your butt to get use to bike saddles.
